HO BIT GOON

HO BIT GOON is a hoyingfung cultural hub founded in April 2011.In the past ten years, Hoyingfung of Theatre Fanatico had launched a series of arts-in-education program for bettering education and community performance among youth, teachers, social workers and parents, all named under the umbrella of Drumming Voices Creative Workshop, with affiliating projects like Remapping Hong Kong 1 & II community arts program. The programs had gained tremendous support from sectors, including :- Leisure & Cultural Services Department- The Cultural Ambassador Scheme, LCSD- International Arts Carnival, LCSD- The Boys and Girls Clubs Association of Hong Kong- Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Lei Tung & Tai Kok Tsui Integrated Services for Young People- The Department of Applied Social Sciences at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University- The Hong Kong Institute of Education, HKSYCIA- Wong Tai Shan Memorial College- Oxfam (Hong Kong)- The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong.In view of the importance of community arts for self/social empowerment and self/social mobility, especially at times of economic downturns and stagnated cultural climate, Hoyingfung has decided to launch an alternative home base to expand its previous endeavor in arts for social causes. HO BIT GOON would be such kind of place to invite innovative ideas for educational and social arts projects, lectures, symposium, and, most of all, experimental workshops on self-empowerment.
