Hong Kong Theatre Works

Introduction

Non-profit theatre company set up in 2008 to engage in drama education, theatre productions, research and development of the local theatre, exchange and publications.

Hardy Tsoi, famous local theatre veteran and founder of the company, introduced the first community theatre movement to Shatin, a district in Hong Kong, in the mid-80s. Copenhagen, translated and directed by Tsoi, won five awards out of 11 nominations at the Hong Kong Drama Awards and Hong Kong Theatre Libre in 2011 including three acting awards and Top Ten Most Popular Productions.

Through quality stage productions of world classics as well as those about local issues for appreciation by the students and residents of the North District, local cultural life has been enhanced.
