The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chung Chi College

Introduction

Chung Chi College was founded in 1951 by representatives of Protestant Churches in Hong Kong. In 1956, the College moved to its permanent site in Ma Liu Shui which is now part of the University Campus. The College was incorporated as one of the three constituent Colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1963. Chung Chi currently has around 3,200 students every year and over 26,000 alumni around the world. The College aims to provide students a whole person education with a broad and balanced development, promoting learning and growing through experiences. Integrating Christianity and Chinese cultures, we endeavors to cultivate love for humanity, open-mindedness, freedom and inclusiveness, nurture talents with insightful knowledge, liberal attitude and global horizon. Our students are expected to have profound understanding in Chinese and Western culture as well as analytical problem-solving skills to meet challenges of the changing world. You will find elements of Christian traditions and heritage as well as the liberal attitude and respect to diverse religious at Chung Chi College. The College motto “In Pursuit of Excellence” comes from the Great Learning, one of the “Four Books” in Confucianism. It emphasizes on the endless pursuit of the perfection of humanities.
