Two Dogs

New Vision Arts Festival 2012

Description

Description

A hybrid of Italian commedia dell’arte and traditional Chinese comedy, “Two Dogs” has been put together by an innovative young team of theatre and music enthusiasts. It is also the coolest, most challenging work yet from Meng Jinghui, a leading National Theatre of China director. Critically acclaimed, the show centres on two dogs that flee their village homes to pursue happiness and fulfilment in a city but are subsequently hit by reality.

As it is based on the most current social issues, such as fake Louis Vuitton goods, fake eggs, tainted milk powder, financial crises and more, the content delivered by the talented cast of improvisational artists is often subject to change. The result is a hilarious yet thought-provoking production that draws attention to and reflects on attitudes of modern life.
