2017/18 School Culture Day Scheme

Description

Description

The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra was founded in 1977 and is the only professional, full-sized Chinese orchestra in Hong Kong. It has won acclaim as “a leader in Chinese ethnic music” and “a cultural ambassador of Hong Kong”. Not only has the orchestra performed around the world it continually thrives in its mission promoting arts education and Chinese music amongst students.

Classic Chinese folk stories for all ages are paired with an interesting line-up of Chinese music performance, bringing students an exciting and heart-warming adventure! The story tellers on stage are highly skilled with their art. In addition to vividly presenting the brilliant stories of The Herbalist’s Cabinet, The Monkey King Thrice Beats the Bony Ghost and Ma Liang and His Magic Brush, they also introduce the various Chinese music instruments in a Chinese orchestra to students. This is an edutaining programme filled with surprises!
