Description

Description

Desperate to look for talents from different specialties, a tap dancer is boarding the ship called “Talent Search”…

There is a Chinese saying that it is easier to judge who the top martial artist is than who the best literary person is. While it may be possible to rate the level of skills, how can the same be done on art? What about the comparison between artistic attainments within the same school and across different scopes? What kind of chemistry will be generated if we think out of the boxes of different schools of art and fuse ours with other elements? There are countless possibilities in the integration of arts and the outcomes are not easy to predict – they could be highbrow or they could be wildly popular. Yet, are highbrow arts necessarily more superior? Are popular ones unable to reach the peak of perfection?

The tap dance musical Troupe on board is a story about the adventure of the most well-known tap dancer in town – he is tasked to board the ship called “Talent Search” to seek talents from different specialities using his art, voice and rhythms. When he meets artists from different areas, he wants to become “No. 1”. The sea is beset by crises – if the crew on board are not united, how can they face the upcoming storm and stay alive amidst the risk of capsize?
