“Romeo and Juliet” by City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong

2018/19 School Culture Day Scheme

Description

Description

The PerPoc Puppet Company from Spain joins City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK) in presenting Shakespeare’s classic story Romeo and Juliet through beautiful and compelling orchestral music, gorgeous puppets and thrilling choreography.

Developed by puppeteers Anna Fernández and Santi Arnal, The PerPoc Puppet Company is Europe’s leading life-size puppetry company who produces visually stimulating shows that delight both children and adults. They custom make their own puppets for each production by using mixed mediums of fabric, wood, paper, metal, and hundreds of colours and texture. The puppets fight hard, dance gracefully and give life to the emotional essence of the story.

CCOHK is one of Hong Kong’s most dynamic cultural entities, known especially for creating exciting new programmes aimed at engaging and educating young audiences in classical music. These include Magnificent Mozart, The Star Bach, Vivaldi Unmasked and the annual The Snowman & The Bear shows with animated film at Christmas. In 2017 CCOHK’s orchestra-theatre spectacular Bug Symphony won the Public Choice Award at the YAMawards in Portugal.
