Rashomon was adapted from Ryūnosuke Akutagawa’s short stories Rashomon and In a Grove. Its stage adaptation was written by American playwrights Fay Kanin and Michael Kanin in 1959. It has been on Broadway, receiving 3 nominations for the Tony Awards. Director Tony Wong will blend in physical movements, human silhouette and drum beats to reveal the tension and complicated mental state of the characters.
After all, it is always a battle in the heart.
