“Passing on the Torch” Concert Series- Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra Annual Concert

Description

To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Music Office, former and current members of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra will celebrate with the audience through a remarkable repertoire at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall at 3 pm on 3 Dec 2017(Sun).

The concert will be conducted by the Music Office instructors Dr. Joseph Kam, Pak Wing-heng and Ng Ka-ming. Vibrant young musicians Che Man-wai (bassist), He Liyan(pianist) and Li Danwei (flautist) will be the guest soloists of the concert. Programme highlights include the Hong Kong premiere of Mui Kwong-chiu’s The Great Earth (Piano and Flute Double Concerto); dynamic and thrilling movie soundtrack Pirates of Caribbean; virtuoso piece for double bass and orchestra, Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saëns and majestic Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 by Elgar. The “Passing on the Torch” Concert Series symbolises the perpetual bond within the Music Office family across generations.
