“Mu Guiying Routing Hongzhou”
The focus of this epic play is the fiery relationship between the legendary heroine and warrior Mu Guiying and her husband Yang Zongbao. When Hongzhou is surrounded by enemy forces, Mu heads the defending army as Commander in Chief with Yang leading the vanguard. Jealous of his wife’s position, Yang defies Mu’s orders and rushes into battle where he is defeated. With the trust between them tested, the couple face personal and military conflict. But in the play’s rousing climax, Mu and Yang are reconciled, coming together to fight side by side.
