Since the 1960s, Hong Kong’s martial arts films have adopted some music of Chinese music ensemble as soundtracks, which gradually became best-known music then. In the 1980s and 1990s, the theme songs of TV martial arts dramas were very popular and were even adapted as music performed by Chinese music ensembles. In this concert, students will be introduced to the instruments commonly used by a Chinese orchestra through a selection of these works.
