Choreographer Anna-Marie Holmes originally brought Le Corsaire from Russia to Boston and New York in the U.S., where it was filmed for Public Broadcasting Service’s (PBS) Great Performances series in 1999 and won an Emmy award in 2000. Based on The Corsair by Lord Byron, this exhilarating production follows the adventures of the dashing pirate Conrad, who goes on a dangerous journey to rescue his true love Medora, who has been captured by a rival. The plot is full of action, passion and romance with its intricate pas de trois and breathtaking jumps from its colorful cast of characters!
