Jean-Guihen Queyras brings modern insights to the canonic masterpieces of Bach. Active in the contemporary music scene for over a decade, Queyras puts the music creation of today into a dialogue with the Baroque gems of the past. He created a project called “Six Suites, Six Echoes”, commissioning composers to write an echo to each of Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello. In the programme of this recital, three pairs of the works will be featured. The audience will experience Bach not only through his compositions from the past, but also the reinvention and reinterpretation of his works by the composers of our time.
