Description

Description

On a beautiful morning, Hilarion, the village huntsman returns from his chores. Villagers are on their way to vineyards where they harvest the grapes. Count Albrecht arrives with his squire at the cottage but dressed as a peasant. Hilarion was puzzled that the count show such affection to the girl of his own dreams, Giselle. The villagers returned from harvest, Giselle invites them to join in a dance to celebrate the harvest. Berthe, Giselle’s mother told her that her life may be endangered if she dances too much. A horn sounds in the distance, it is the sound of the royal hunting party. As the villagers danced to celebrate the harvest, Hilarion interrupts to reveal Albrecht is royalty, and betrothed to Bathilde. Broken hearted, Giselle turned mad and died of a broken heart.
