Dances in the Groove

Description

Description

Groove Wind Quintet is a Hong Kong-based wind quintet, founded in 2014.

GWQ has performed in many major art events in Hong Kong, including Le French May, Musica del Cuore, concerts at St. John’s Cathedral, Chamber Music for Life and the concert series of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. As one of the young ambassadors of the city, the quintet has also performed at the Hong Kong Airport Proms, a seven-day classical- and jazz-music marathon. They were the only Hong Kong wind quintet invited to perform at the International Double Reed Conference in Tokyo, Japan, in 2015. As well as performing works from the standard repertoire, GWQ is keen to explore contemporary wind quintet music and perform commissioned new works by local composers in Hong Kong.
