In Western music, serenades have been a music genre through which lovers express love for each other. What a tender and romantic scene to have a lover leaning against the window, sending love messages to the beloved through touching melodies played softly beneath the glistening starry sky with bright moonlight. Serenades are a genre widely popular among composers, which are distinguished by their sweet melodies and rich harmonisation. This concert features European serenades of different periods, providing an opportunity for students to savour the distinctive European culture and the tenderness of Europeans.
