The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series: “Elephant in the Room”

The 47th Hong Kong Arts Festival

Description

Description

Elephant in the Room
Mar 20 – 21, Studio Theatre, HK Cultural Centre

A dance work that opens your eyes to the elephant in the room
For the second consecutive year, the HKAF will continue its collaboration with Chinese choreographers and the Beijing-based Young Artists’ Dance Platform to build a stage for dance exchange that fosters artistic collaboration between Hong Kong and mainland China. The 2019 edition will infuse dance with theatre in a feature-length work, The Elephant in the Room, with Beijing-based choreographer Chang Xiaoni and creative performers from Hong Kong and Gansu.

Chang will work with six creative performers to investigate personal stories in search of the elephant in the room. As their stories unfold, their performance will bridge borders—between contemporary dance and theatre, self-reflection and interpersonal connection, life and art.
