The flames of wars are already raging. Fleeing an uprising, Jiang Shilong and Wang Ruilan, daughter of The Minister of Defence, meet in the pell-mell. As they continue their journey, love grows and they get married. When Minister Wang finally finds Ruilan, he refuses to accept her marriage and force her to return home, as Shilong is poor.
