Hong Kong Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra

Introduction

Established in 2012, Hong Kong Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra is a non-profit organisation and aims to promote quality music. Members include instrumental instructors, students and alumni of tertiary institutions, and connoisseurs from various walks. The Orchestra is operated by a self-governed committee formed by a group of zealous post-80s members. With its debut concert held in 2013, the Orchestra collaborates with singers, artists and organisations, including Sharon Lee, the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Hong Kong Elite Chamber Orchestra, Junior Chamber International Hong Kong and etc. The Orchestra performed in the UNESCO International “Arts for Peace” Festival in 2014. In 2015, the Orchestra collaborated with local soloists to present a concert of all Russian programme and two concerts for Sino-Western cultural exchange successfully. The Orchestra will keep organising activities in various formats to fulfill its aim.
