On 31 May 2018, nearly 800 students eagerly watched Hong Kong Ballet’s Mixed Bill 2018 performance excerpts as part of School Culture Day at Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Grand Theatre. 8 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and a special school were represented in the audience.
During the introductory remarks, the students met some Company dancers, who demonstrated some of their most interesting ballet movements from the performance. Students also learned more about the concepts behind Le Carnaval des Animaux and Rush, the choreographers’ backgrounds and the different types of music chosen for specific pieces. This engaging educational event was enthusiastically received by students and teachers alike, who all spoke highly about the event afterwards. The captivating dance excerpts seem to be a favourite among the audience members, and Hong Kong Ballet is proud to help encourage a love of the arts to students through this worthwhile scheme!
