Description

“To explore the world through a flower, each leave means different bohdi.” The Imperial Princess Under the Bodhi Tree grand opened at Art of Nature Contemporary Gallery on August 3rd , showing the old-line court painting with extended vitality by Aisin Gioro Family descendants to the public.

The two artists of this exhibition, Aisin Gioro‧Manka and her daughter Aisin Gioro‧Hangkam, also the fifth and sixth generation of descendants of Daoguang Emperor in Qing Dynasty appeared in the opening reception, unveiled the mystery of court painting to audience from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. Hangkam demonstrated scripture onsite. And surprised to the audience by displaying the One Hundred Horses painting, painting of one hundred different eloquent and vivid horses, with is in consort with her mother Manka. The 11 meters-long Diamond Sutra displayed in the center of the exhibition space showcased Hangkam’s sophisticated calligraphy skill, stirred enthusiastic responses among the audience. The meticulous court painting merge with the state of life, it continues its heritage through the descendants of royal family and audience begin to sense its own artistic value.

Artworks by mother and daughter persistent pursuit and rigorous attitudes united with fine brushwork and freehand style. We are moved by their inheritance of arts, dedication in promoting arts, and we hope to bring the beauty of court painting and cultural feast to the audience.
