General Yang Yue of Sui invades the Chen Dynasty and Princess Lechang uses herself to cover for her husband’s escape. As a token for their future reunion, the princess breaks a mirror and gives one half to her husband, Xu Deyan. Yang Yue is impressed by the princess’ courage and spares her life. The princess takes on the identity as Yang’s wife and lives on.

Official Zuo Weiming learns of the injustice and comes to further investigate the case. Using a leftover embroidered shoe, Zuo is able to lure the murderer Yang Liujiao and solves the case.
