A Tribute to Theoreau – The Living Green Theatre

2017 Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme

Description

Description

Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) was born during the time of the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century. Seeing constant damages to forests and continuous industrial pollution, he became an advocate for simple living and opposed against materialism and consumerism. As 2017 marks the 200th anniversary of Thoreau’s birth, the arts group hopes to reiterate the spirit of Thoreau and encourage the public to pursue their passion and meaning of life, to reduce their yearning for materialistic enjoyment, and to establish a green culture.
