Chinese Painting And Calligraphy of Song, Yuan And Ming Dynasties From The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts

Description

Description

The Kyoto National Museum is one of the most distinguished museums in Japan. It possesses very fine Chinese artworks with a collection of 19th and 20th centuries Chinese paintings of high historical value. This is the first opportunity for the Hong Kong Museum of Art to co-organise an exhibition on Chinese painting with the Kyoto National Museum. The exhibition features the works by the modern Chinese painters such as Gao Jianfu (1879 – 1951) and Gao Qifeng (1889 – 1933). It aims to explore the development of modern Chinese paintings under the Japanese influence. This exhibition also provides a glimpse of the cultural exchanges between China and Japan in the modern era.
