Was the universe born from an egg? This is the myth that forms the focus of this entertaining and thought provoking story. Out of the darkened theatre, an egg is transformed into a living planet. One after another, different animal puppets emerge on Earth, followed by human beings. Showing how everything seems to change with the passage of time, in the blink of an eye, people are living in modern cities. And yet our curiosity about the cosmos still remains.

Genesis is an internationally acclaimed production written by Meridiano Teatret’s artistic director Giacomo Ravicchio, who boldly selects science as the theme for his children’s theatre, examining such topics as the origin of life, natural selection, the birth of civilisation, and the power of humans to explore and destroy Nature.

Integrating multi-media, lively puppetry, enchanting original music and innovative magic, the stage will be transformed into a series of visually intriguing and poetic scenes. A tale that stirs the heart and inspires youngsters’ interest in the mysteries of Nature.
