Description

Description

Dancing through the air, the beauty of creativity is revealed.

Sat amidst a circle of electric fans, a serious-looking figure cuts and tapes a small plastic bag before scrumpling it up and leaving it on the floor. As he switches on the fans one by one, Bebussy’s exquisite L’Apres-midi d’un Faune starts to play, and as if by magic, the currents of air slowly inflate the bag into life! This newborn ballerina first struggles to stand up, then gradually lifts a foot to swirl gracefully in the air. Later, “she” is joined by an animated troupe of bags, who form an exhilarating corps de ballet that jubilantly twirl and pirouette aloft. Are they celebrating or reflecting on the miracle of lift?

Compagnie Non Nova uses the simple idea of air currents to inject vitality into everyday objects, turning plastic bags into beautiful art. An ethereal thought-provoking encounter, illustrating the power of the artist to expand our view of life.
