Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth

Description

Description

Dogg’s Hamlet and Cahoot’s Macbeth are two one-acts by British playwright Tom Stoppard, to be performed together as Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth.

Making creative use of Shakespeare’s classic texts with inspirations from philosopher Lugwig Wittgenstein’s investigation of how we use language, both plays share an invented language called Dogg, which uses English words but in different meanings, attempting to explore and illustrate how language can be manipulated in various political and nonpolitical ways to different effects.

Both hysterically funny and frighteningly intense, these witty and dazzling plays will change the way you look at language.
